Volunteer Visions: Progress Update on Draft Code of Conduct Comparative Analysis Phase
17 October 2024
This is our third update, and we’re finally starting to see the finish line on this important journey!
Since starting this journey early last spring, we’ve come a long way. In our last update, we shared the progress we had made and the steps we had taken so far. In September, we reached out to the leaders of the Professional Division Committees, the Regional Division Committees, and the Section Standing Committees to gather your initial feedback on two different drafts of the code of conduct. Feedback was shared in a variety of ways—some from individual members, and some reflecting the collective voice of an entire committee. No formal matrix was used, so the feedback you provided was rich and varied, offering diverse perspectives.
At our September meeting, the group decided that all members of the working group would participate in analysing this feedback during our October meeting. Your feedback will guide us as we refine the final draft. We’ll share the updated code with our wider membership for transparency and informational purposes. Please note that any additional feedback will be included in the Appendices, along with our memo to the Governing Board.
Looking ahead, we plan to submit the updated code to the Governing Board in late November, aiming for its approval during their December meeting.
We want to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who shared their insights and feedback. Your contributions reflect the strength and diversity of our community and are essential to the success of this work.
Stay tuned for more updates – we’re almost there!
