The first edition of the Dubai International Library Conference takes place at the Mohammed Bin Rachid Library in Dubai on 15-17 November, under the theme Our Libraries, Past, Present and Future.

With the ambition to support understanding among cultures, exchange experience about heritage preservation, explore how libraries help achieve sustainable development and develop ideas about the future of our sector, the Conference brings together colleagues from around the region and the world.

Sessions cover a wide variety of topics, bringing together experts from the library field and beyond.

Speakers from IFLA will include Secretary General Sharon Memis and chair of the Management of Library Associations Section Loida Garcia Febo, as well as Saif Al Jabri and Jeannette Lebron Ramos, Chairs respectively of the Middle East and North Africa and Latin America and Caribbean Regional Division Committees. Sharon will also be participating in the meeting of the Conference of Directors of National Libraries – Asia-Oceania.
