IFLA’s Governing Board will be holding an extraordinary meeting on 9 July 2025, in order to agree on the financial statements that will be presented to members at our General Assembly on 20 August 2025.

IFLA’s audit was completed in June, therefore an extraordinary meeting is necessary to review the 2024 financial statements. The meeting is also a useful opportunity to advance other business ahead of our next Governing Board meeting at the Congress.

In more detail, the meeting will cover the following items:

  • The review and approval of our financial statements for 2024, following independent external audit
  • The 2025 Budget Reforecast , following the agreement with SIGL over the disbursement of Gates funds, will be reviewed.
  • Updates on preparations for WLIC 2025 in Astana, as well as on the reviews of bids for 2026 and 2027
  • Next steps on ensuring that there is a person in place as Chair of the Advisory Committee on Standards for 2025-2027
  • The results of the reviews of Sections carried out by the Professional Council
  • The future of the (long-inactive) IFLA Heritage Risk Register
  • The updated IFLA Universal Bibliographic Control (UBC) Statement
  • A draft statement on inclusive knowledge societies

A summary of the discussions will be shared after the meeting.
