Training Program For Armenian Public Libraries
September 15 – 19, 2025
Location: Yerevan, Armenia [travel and accommodation expenses covered]
The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia, in partnership with the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) and the Armenian Library Association NGO, is pleased to announce an open Call for Trainers for a training program: Transforming Libraries into Dynamic Community and Cultural Centers.
This initiative is developed in close collaboration with the Ministry. It is designed to empower public libraries across Armenia to become vibrant, multifunctional community and cultural hubs that meet the evolving needs of their users.
Training Focus Areas Include (but are not limited to):
The four key focus areas have been clustered into two complementary modules, aligned with the expertise of the invited trainers:
1. Digital Services & Information Literacy
- Introducing and enhancing electronic services for modern library users.
- Building staff capacity to adopt new technologies and practices.
2. Innovative Reading Promotion & Community Engagement
- Promoting reading through innovative programmes and tailored approaches.
- Reimagining libraries as hubs for community engagement, education and cultural exchange.
Two expert trainers will each lead a dedicated, two‑day masterclass for separate groups of trainees.
- Cohort 1: 25 librarians · September 16 – 17
- Cohort 2: 25 librarians · September 18 – 19
(Each day runs approximately 10:00–17:00, including lunch and coffee breaks provided by the organisers.)
Each masterclass consists of one theoretical day and one practical day, tailored to equip participants with both knowledge and hands-on skills.

We invite public library professionals who are committed to innovation and community service to apply for this programme.
Travel and Accommodation
All travel and accommodation expenses will be fully covered by the Armenian organisers.
