2025 IFLA Membership Sentiment Survey results are now available, providing a comprehensive snapshot of member perspectives across all regions and membership types. These findings serve as a starting point for evaluating progress against the strategic outcomes of IFLA’s 2024-2029 Strategy.

Conducted in April and May 2025, the survey gathered input from members and affiliates, offering insights into how IFLA is perceived and experienced by its global community. The survey explored key areas of outcomes and indicators across the Strategy’s three Impact Areas and one Enabler.

The results are presented in five sections:

  • Membership value, benefits, satisfaction, and loyalty;
  • Awareness and use of resources;
  • Professional development;
  • Engagement with IFLA’s volunteer units and Headquarters;
  • Perceptions of IFLA: awareness, confidence and sustainability.

Key results and next steps

Members expressed high levels of appreciation for their IFLA membership. The results highlight strong support for IFLA’s vision, resources, and community, while also identifying opportunities for growth and deeper engagement. The baseline data will support IFLA’s structural units and committees in planning and decision-making, helping to ensure that activities are aligned with the needs and expectations of members.
