Building Future Resilience: Leveraging Library Resources for Global and Disaster Health

This session will explore the essential role of libraries in disaster preparedness and response, focusing on how they can improve health outcomes in the context of access, climate change, digital divides, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Our keynotes will discuss the importance of librarians from all sectors in disaster response. A panel of experts will then share their experiences, followed by small group discussion amongst attendees.

Librarians play a critical role in disseminating accurate health and environmental information. Our training will emphasize collaboration, resource-sharing, and the power of librarians as trusted community partners.
This workshop will prepare community-serving libraries, including but not limited to public libraries, to engage with their communities about one locally/regionally important public health topic that is related to climate change and that they define.
