As part of the Qatar National Library’s (QNL) continuous efforts to foster regional engagement in science communication and literacy, the Science Book Forum (SBF) — organized by Qatar National Library in collaboration with the IFLA MENA Regional Office — continues to reach new audiences across the Arab region.

In September 2025, the library brought together science enthusiasts through a remarkable SBF session that connected audiences in Qatar and Jordan. At Qatar National Library, more than 240 participants gathered to attend the session in person, while 14 participants joined online from the Abdul Hameed Shoman Library in Amman, thanks to coordination by the IFLA MENA Regional Office.

The lecture, delivered by Dr Rana Dajani, titled “Science Book Forum: Doing the Impossible – If We Can Reverse Cell Fate, Why Can’t We Reimagine Success?”, sparked engaging discussions and inspired curiosity among attendees, embodying the shared mission of both institutions to promote a vibrant culture of science learning and regional knowledge exchange.

The session was streamed live, and its recording is available here.

Through such partnerships, SBF continues to serve as a bridge connecting libraries and cultural institutions in the region, empowering them to promote curiosity, scientific thinking, and dialogue among diverse audiences. These collaborations reaffirm Qatar National Library’s leadership in fostering science literacy and advancing IFLA MENA’s vision of shared learning and knowledge exchange across the region.
