Project COMLAW: Compared Law Database
Action Plan 2021-2023: Library and Research Services for Parliaments Section.
Strategic Direction 2 – Inspire and Enhance Professional Practice

The Comparative Law Database COMLAW is an aggregator of digital, open-access publications on national and compared law studies to assist librarians and researchers in parliaments in their work. This free, multilingual database aims to provide authoritative information for the parliamentary community worldwide and to facilitate access to material held in different open-access data bases, national and international, by collecting and compiling this information in one basis.
The project began during the 2021-2023 IFLA Library and Research Services for Parliaments Standing Committee term and continues to be developped by the 2023-2025 IFLA PARL Standing Committe. It is a crowd-sourced project that intends to bring together parliamentary librarians and researchers worlwide, by connecting them through their shared knowledge and shared information.
We encourage parliamentary librarians and researchers to take advantage of this project and the materials it provides. And we invite them to support it and supply it with new material in order to strengthen it and keep it up-to-date.
To contribute to COMLAW, please download the Excel template, fill it in and send it to [email protected] (Cc: [email protected]). You can repeat this procedure regularly, whenever you have new material to share.
