The libraries of KIIT-DU and KISS-DU represent a powerful model of sustainable and inclusive education in India. Combining eco-friendly architecture, renewable energy, and digital innovation, they promote environmental literacy and equitable access to knowledge. The KISS-DU empowers over 30,000 tribal learners, offering open educational resources and digital tools that support first-generation students. Meanwhile, KIIT’s library advances green practices and AI-supported research aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Together, they demonstrate how libraries can merge environmental stewardship, social inclusion, and technological innovation to create transformative, future-ready learning ecosystems.

Speaker: Payel Saha
Dr.Payel Saha is a Library Professional at KIIT Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar, India, with over Nine years of experience in promoting innovation, sustainability, and digital transformation in academic libraries. She holds a Ph.D. in Library and Information Science, an M.A. in English, and has qualified the UGC-NET(National Eligibility Test), reflecting her strong interdisciplinary expertise. Her research focuses on green and smart libraries, TinyML and AI applications, information literacy, and sustainable knowledge management. She has published and reviewed many research publications nationally and internationally and a life member of Indian Library Association and a member of International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions.
