Join us for a special screening of the film The Librarians
You are invited to a special screening of the 2025 documentary The Librarians, a film exploring the critical issue of censorship in the United States. Sponsored by IFLA’s North American Regional Division, IFLA’s Advisory Committee on Freedom of Access to information and Freedom of Expression (FAIFE), the Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL), University of Toronto Libraries, Toronto Metropolitan University Libraries, and York University Libraries.
There will be two viewing options; separate registrations are required for each option:
(1) In person viewing, followed by discussion with two librarians featured in the film. Venue: Innis Town Hall, Innis College, University of Toronto. Registration is limited to 200 attendees and the registration deadline is January 20, 2026: [Please register via this link]
(2) Virtual viewing, via streaming, followed by Jonathan Hernandez (Chair of FAIFE) moderating online questions. Registration is required; there is no registration deadline but participation will be limited to the first 100 persons. Registered attendees will receive two separate links, the Q&A/Zoom link will be shared immediately upon registration and the link for the screening of the film will be shared a couple days beforehand via email to all registered attendees.
