EXTENDED! Apply to join the MetLib Learning Circle 2026-27
16 March 2026

MetLib Learning Circle is a 12-month talent development program initiated by the IFLA Metropolitan Libraries Section. The learning circle is designed for 15-20 library leaders from public libraries serving urban areas with populations of more than 400,000. Participation in the program enables participants to build international networks, access cutting-edge library innovations worldwide and receive mentorship from experienced and innovative library leaders.
The theme of this cohort is Planning for Futures. We welcome applicants who work for instance on strategic planning, key service areas or major transformation projects. Every participant needs to have a project that would benefit from learning from colleagues.
The fourth cohort of the program runs from April 2026 to March 2027. The program consists of monthly online convenings of 90 minutes and a conference in Utrecht, in the Netherlands, 24-28 October 2026 where the participants have a chance to share their projects with and seek advice from colleagues from around the world.
The application requires collaboration between the applicant and the director/city librarian/CEO of the public library. The person suggested should collaborate with their director in filling the application. Both the director and the applicant will be informed about the process and selection.
The deadline for applications is 26 March 2026. >>> Apply here.
