The IFLA Bibliography Section is inviting submissions for its virtual event series “Topics in National Bibliographies”, for a series of webinars in 2025.

Are you leading or witnessing transformative shifts in bibliographic services, metadata practices, or national bibliographic agencies? Have you developed innovative solutions, explored new technologies, or championed open and inclusive approaches in bibliographic work?
We invite you to submit a proposal to present in our upcoming webinars focused on “Driving Change and Innovation in Bibliographic Services and Practices”
The 2025 series will explore and promote innovation while highlighting new approaches, challenges, and opportunities in bibliographic services and practices. We welcome submissions that showcase forward-thinking projects, case studies, strategies, and technology-driven approaches — fostering dialogue, sharing expertise, and inspiring change within national agencies and metadata communities.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Transformative shifts in how bibliographic data is created, managed, shared, or used
- Impact of generative AI on bibliographic policies
- Optimized and inclusive metadata practices
- Innovative services, tools, and use cases of the national bibliography or national catalogue
- National bibliographic agency modernization efforts
- Collaboration models between bibliographic agencies and other institutions or sectors
- Training, capacity building, and change management in bibliographic agencies
- Resilience projects and use cases in times of change, emergence of new formats, uncertainty, or budget constraints
We also welcome case studies that highlight, but are not limited to:
- Impact and value of bibliographic data for research, education, and culture
- Addressing challenges and opportunities: highlighting current issues and future directions in the field
- Specific project spotlights, showcasing the development and impact of particular initiatives
Submission guidelines:
Submit your proposal in a Word file enclosing the following information in the same order:
- Proposed title of your presentation
- Your selected focus (Topics of Interest OR Case Study)
- Names, affiliations, emails addresses of presenter(s)
- An abstract of your proposed presentation (250-300 words) clearly outlining your topic, key points, and intended audience.
- A brief bios of presenters (max. 100 words each), in a new page
Proposals’ submission deadline is 27 May 2025. Proposals should be sent to:

Selection criteria:
Proposals will be reviewed by a panel of experts based on:
- Relevance to the webinars theme
- Originality and clarity
- Potential impact and contribution to the field
