Early Market Engagement: Professional Conference Organisers
04 November 2024
The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) is looking to compile a list of professional conference organisers prior to a formal request for proposals in early 2025.
IFLA’s World Library and Information Congresses (WLICs) are a key part of the life of our Federation, offering an opportunity for our network to come together, to share ideas and experiences, and advance work. For the library community in host countries and regions, they are energising and validating experiences, leaving a legacy of excitement and engagement.
WLICs typically attract 3000-4000 participants, and take part in different parts of the world, as part of our Federation’s goal of being as close to our members as possible.
IFLA has a long history of working with professional conference organisers (PCOs) in order to manage these major events. We have a strong and positive relationship with our current PCO.
Nonetheless, in line with good practice, as well as potential changes in our Congress model, IFLA is carrying out an early market engagement exercise in order to develop a list of approved suppliers with whom we might work in future.
At this stage, we are interested in identifying potential partners, ahead of a formal process. With this in mind, we welcome expressions of interest from PCOs, via the form below:
Deadline: Monday 25 November 2024, 12:00 CET
Subsequently, we will organise discussions to talk more about our plans and take any questions you might have, ahead of a more formal request for proposals in early 2025.
