Following a process to seek nominees and nominators, IFLA is happy to announce the names of the Chair and Members of our new Advisory Committee on Ethics, as well as the Chair of our Advisory Committee on Standards for 2025-2027.

The process for the Advisory Committee on Ethics was launched following a decision of the Governing Board in August, as announced in our news story at the time. It will have a key role in making a reality of IFLA’s Code of Conduct for Volunteers.

The members of the first mandate of the Committee, with the mission to give life to its terms of reference will be as below:

Ellen Tise (South Africa) – Chair
Dilara Begum (Bangladesh)
Catharina Isberg (Sweden)
Francesco Manganiello (Canada)
Jennefer Nicholson (Australia)
Margarita Pérez Pulido (Spain)
Maia Simonishvili (Georgia)
Jacqueline Snee (New Zealand)
Juhee Song (Republic of Korea)
Jing Zhang (China)

In addition, there was a need for an extraordinary process for the Chair of the Advisory Committee on Standards, given that the previous candidate was discounted due to responsibilities elsewhere in IFLA.

The Chair of the Advisory Committee on Standards from now until the end of its term in 2027 will therefore be:

Marian Morgan-Bindon (Australia)

We wish all chairs and members well in their work.
