This spring will see the next IFLA’s Elections. If you are thinking on how you could get involved in IFLA’s activities, consider joining the EURDC for its next term.

What the EURDC has achieved until now?

– the Cooperation with European Library Partners working group established regular meetings with other European partners, such as EBLIDA, LIBER, NAPLE and PL2030,
– the Demonstrating the Impact of Library Advocacy Initiatives working group has gathered information from many European stakeholders regarding library advocacy initiatives in their countries, a report will follow,
– the Evaluation of Needs for Library Professional Development working group has conducted a survey which aimed to examine gaps and needs in library professional development across the European Region, its results will be published in the first half of this year,
– the Democracy and European Libraries working group is planning to organize a webinar during this spring with the aim of promoting sustainable societies and active citizenship.

And there’s more!

– together with other European stakeholders we have published a manifesto calling on candidates for the European Parliament elections to ensure libraries realise their potential to build a stronger, fairer, more sustainable Europe,
– together with the Management of Library Associations Section (MLAS), in collaboration with the New Professionals Special Interest Group (NPSIG) and the Women, Information and Libraries Special Interest Group (WILSIG) we have hosted a webinar on the internationalization of Library Association’s work,
– we have contributed to several webinars organized by the Continuing Professional Development and Workplace Learning Section (CPDWL),
– we have contributed to the Culture, Knowledge, and Community: An International Library Conference held in Barcelona in October 2024.

Last, but not least, we have built strong and close relationships with each other – librarians from different types of libraries and from different countries.

Are you still not convinced? Do not hesitate to contact any of us and ask us questions about our work.

Together we can achieve more!
