As Lesotho celebrated 200 years of Documentary Heritage, a 5-day conference was held bringing about 200 participants including librarians, archivists, historians, museum curates, language experts and cultural activists to reflect on their role in the preservation of the national documentary heritage. Participants and speakers from Lesotho, Botswana, Ghana, Namibia, Uganda, South Africa, United States of America, United Kingdom and Zimbabwe. As the Zambian Librarians engaged in addressing Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3, Solwezi was one of the marginalized communities selected to be supported and Namakau (Kimasala Public Library) won an award under the theme “Menstrual and Hygiene for All”. For Details; Click Here
At the Window on America- Main Library, while delivering the 6th Library Seminar Series with the theme: “Records and Archives Management in Organizations”, Proff. Ekoja mentioned that for effective administration, proper archival administration is core. He said that records are organic documents used for current transactions in organizations and are pre- archival collections, therefore, all records of enduring value are potential archival materials. For Details, Click Here As the Solwezi Library appreciated the positive impact on Computer Literacy on its library, its celebration geared a campaign to lifelong learning in its community by ensuring Computer Literacy for all.
