03 December 2025
Recognizing Innovative Contributions to Marketing in the Library Field
Win €3,500 in funds to travel to the 2026 World Library and Information Congress (WLIC) in Busan, South Korea!
The IFLA Management and Marketing (M&M) Section is delighted to launch the 2026 International Library Marketing Award, continuing its partnership with award sponsor PressReader. The Award recognizes the best library marketing projects from 2025, aims to encourage marketing in libraries and provides an opportunity for libraries to share marketing experience and expertise globally.
“There are approximately 2.8 million libraries worldwide, which offer people the joy of reading on a daily basis, help them cope with digital challenges, provide a pleasant meeting place, and so much more. Libraries are creators and preservers of mental well-being.
Marketing is the art of making everybody’s eyes sparkle. For a quarter of a century now, the IFLA Management & Marketing Section has recognized libraries for outstanding marketing campaigns. Let us know how your library makes its users’ eyes sparkle!
This award is the chance to let your campaign shine on the international stage and inspire other libraries across the globe. We welcome submissions from libraries of all sizes and countries, and are particularly excited to hear from underrepresented regions and voices” says IFLA Management and Marketing Chair Krista Visas.
Three finalists will be selected based on innovative contributions to marketing in the library field. First place receives €3,500, second €2,500, and third €2,000 to support their attendance at the 2026 World Library and Information Congress (WLIC) in Busan, South Korea. The Award also honours the top 10 submissions with certificates of recognition and a Premium PressReader account.
The winners receive well-deserved recognition and are invited to showcase their best practices in marketing at an award ceremony at WLIC. This represents an extraordinary opportunity for libraries around the world to shine a spotlight on their exceptional achievements and share valuable insights.
“Empowering curious minds with quality, trusted content is the guiding star for everything we do at PressReader,” says James Fairbotham, Director, Libraries & Institutions at PressReader. “So, naturally, we’re beyond excited to sponsor this award and celebrate how libraries achieve that mission with creative approaches to community outreach and service. We’ve seen some incredible initiatives over the years and I can’t wait to see what’s in store this year.”
Applications will be accepted through 27 February 2026.
