Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to collaborate with the SIG Library History (LibHist SIG) as co-opted members (2025-2027). Our group is actively engaged in several stimulating projects, and we believe that your contribution can further enrich our initiatives.

The LibHist SIG is a long-standing unit. Currently it is sponsored by the Library Theory and Research Section, in Professional Division E.

Recently, in view of IFLA’s 100th anniversary, we have worked on two main projects:

  • IFLA Centenary Book: A volume celebrating the history and achievements of IFLA.
  • Oral History Project: A collection of testimonies and memories from key figures in the field of librarianship.

Furthermore, we are discussing new collaborative projects focused on the disciplinary foundations and personalities who have shaped the LIS profession. Your experience and perspective would be invaluable for these new directions.

Please note the upcoming deadline for submitting an expression of interest to IFLA and complete the appropriate form.
