The IFLA Academic and Research Libraries (ARL) Section focuses on cooperation, exchange of information, and promotion and support of the role of libraries as core institutions for research and education worldwide.

We are proud to announce that, thanks especially to the efforts or our Committee members Jayshree Mamtora and Bertil F. Dorch, the latest iteration of the well kwown IFLA Journal (year #51, issue N°1, March 2025) is now available, and does cover key ARL topics suchs as:

  • Trends in academic and research libraries;
  • Perceptions of the role of research librarian: A phenomenological study;
  • Australian academic libraries and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals;
  • Fostering scientific integrity in Vietnam: The contribution of library and information services;
  • Model proposal of libraries functions to implement open science: Analysis from Latin American librarianship; and
  • Scholar-led publishing and diamond open access: The professionalised role of libraries
  • … and much more!
