On 15 August 2025, the New Professionals Special Interest Group hosted its signature event, IFLACamp, at Riviera International School in Astana. Held 2 days before the World Library and Information Congress, IFLACamp brought together new and experienced library and information professionals from across the globe for two days of exchange, learning, and collaboration.

This year’s IFLACamp provided a platform for discussing the future of the profession, the importance of international cooperation, and the role of new professionals in shaping library services worldwide. The program featured interactive discussions and cultural exchange, as participants engaged not only with professional issues but also with Kazakhstan’s rich traditions.

A highlight of the day was the active involvement of Riviera International School’s students, who welcomed participants and shared insights about Kazakhstan’s culture and heritage, adding a unique local perspective to the international gathering.

On the following day, 16 August, participants enjoyed a city tour of Astana together, strengthening professional connections while experiencing the city’s history, culture, and vibrant atmosphere.

IFLACamp once again proved to be a vibrant space where creativity, professional dialogue, and intercultural understanding come together—empowering the next generation of librarians and information professionals.
