Networking and partnerships are what the IFLA Library and Research Services for Parliaments Section (IFLAPARL) is about. Their collaborative spirit and work aligned to the IFLA’s Key Initiative 1.2, is what brought them to IFLA’s spotlight!
IFLA has submitted a response to the Office of the High Commissioner on Human Rights call for inputs on women and girls’ sexual and reproductive rights. Libraries around the world are working to raise awareness and knowledge about women’s SRHR, helping deliver on their fundamental rights to health and access to information.
IFLA’s Strategy is already one year old!
Over the past two weeks, IFLA has organised a series of round tables, designed to deepen the conversation with our Members and volunteers about the future of our Federation. The feedback we have received will help the Governing Board improve and develop proposals to be delivered at our General Assembly on 5 November.
The joint webinar from the IFLA Information Literacy (IL) Section and Library Services to People with Special Needs (LSN) Section on “Using Universal Design for Learning to Enhance Information Literacy Programs: Online and in the Library” will be aired live twice in opposite time zones to accommodate participants in different parts of the world. Three different world class speakers will be in each webinar so sign up for one or both.
The LRM (Library Reference Model) is the latest standard to be included on the new IFLA Namespaces site. Visit the site at: https://www.iflastandards.info/lrm.html

We are at the mid-point of our series of virtual round tables on our Governance Review, and have already received great feedback and useful questions. The next week will offer further opportunities to share your ideas – we encourage Members and volunteers to join us!
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have provided a great framework both for libraries to think about their own services, and to engage with governments and build new partnerships. The Federation of Brazilian Library Associations (FEBAB) is a great example, recently joining the country's Agenda 2030 Work Group.
