The ICML takes place in a city selected through a competitive process. The Congress normally attracts 500+ attendees from around the world.

The International Advocacy Programme (IAP) continues as a worldwide campaign to get libraries into National Development Plans! The IAP Update – May 2017 features activities and plans reported by IAP participants between February 2017 and the end of May 2017.
IFLA, alongside 63 other civil society and trade associations has co-signed a letter to Ministers attending the European Union’s Competitiveness Council. This initiative seeks to urge decisionmakers to aim for a more ambitious copyright reform that responds to the needs of libraries and their users in Europe.
The workshop is free, but requires a registration and is limited to 30 participants. Lunch will be served.
Public libraries are uniquely placed as centres of informal learning for all ages, at the heart of their communities. They have embraced the opportunities to bring STEAM initiatives to all, from the very young through to those who are post-retirement. 'How Public Libraries Contribute to the STEM Agenda' collects together the case studies presented at STEAM into Sydney, the Public Library Standing Committee's 2017 mid-term meeting.
