Government Libraries Section - Berlin Satellite Meeting 2017

    The Government Libraries Section is pleased to invite government librarians and information professionals to its satellite meeting in Berlin on 25-26 August, following the 2017 WLIC in Wroclaw. Graciously hosted by the Bundestag Library, the morning theme of the workshop on Friday 25 August will be the revision of Guidelines for Libraries of Government Departments focussing on Chapter 11 Advocacy, and how these can tie in with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Early booking is advised as places are limited.

        Unanimous Support for Access for the Print Disabled: European Parliament Committee Votes on Marrakesh Treaty Ratification

          The European Parliament’s Legal Affairs Committee sent out a strong signal to the European Union’s Member States last week by voting unanimously for laws which will ensure that people with print disabilities, and those that support them, are not faced with needless and harmful barriers to access to knowledge and culture.
