We are thrilled to announce that the Knowledge Rights 21 Programme has been extended for a further five years thanks to the generous support of Arcadia. This continued funding, amounting to €5.5 million, will allow us to further invest in building capacity for reforms that enhance 21st-century access to research, education and culture.
More than a thousand library workers in all regions of the world benefited from IFLA’s training programme on “Measurement, evaluation, and demonstrating impact of library services” in 2024. Read more about how the year went.
A new set of training materials offers insights for libraries and library associations into the basics of grant-based partnerships. Through a handbook, three how-to guides and a recorded webinar, learn about what you need in order to build, manage and sustain partnerships. This work is funded by SIGL.
IFLA continued its partnership and collaboration with UNESCO-IFAP by hosting a session led by the IGF Dynamic Coalitions from each organization: the Dynamic Coalition of Public Access in Libraries (DC-PAL) and the Dynamic Coalition on Measuring Digital Inclusion (DC-DI). The session was also co-hosted by members of the Global Digital Inclusion Partnership (GDIP).
Jonathan Hernandez-Perez, Chair of the IFLA Advisory Committee on Freedom of Access to Information and Freedom of Expression, spoke for IFLA at the event in Guadalajara, Mexico, sharing library experiences and reflecting on the interconnection between freedom of expression, and the freedoms to publish and read.
