The IFLA Children and Young Adults Section is revising the Guidelines for Children's Library Services. The new Guidelines will promote and encourage the development of effective library services for children by giving guidance to the international library community about children's needs and rights on information, literacy and reading.

At the World Library and Information Congress in Cape Town IFLA's Continuing Professional Development and Workplace Learning and Public Libraries Sections joined together to deliver the program Learning Across Boundaries: a workshop (Session 092). As part of the session each of our four presenters provided a number of questions that were discussed by participants in a world café.

French software company BibLibre new sponsor of IFLA Marketing Award. The IFLA International Marketing Award, one of the flagship awards of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), will get a new sponsor in 2016. BibLibre is a French company, based in Marseille. Their marketing campaign is very appealing: “A different company. Made in France”.

During the Closing Session on 20 August, IFLA President Sinikka Sipilä and IFLA Professional Committee Vice-Chair Clara Chu conferred the following honours and awards..
During the Closing Session, IFLA President Sinikka Sipilä officially announced the host location for the World Library and Information Congress 2017.
At its 14 August 2015 meeting in Cape Town, South Africa, the IFLA Governing Board endorsed an IFLA Statement on Privacy in the Library Environment.
