Next week, the Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights (SCCR) of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) will once again meet to discuss exceptions and limitations for libraries and archives.
On 4-5 June, IFLA participated in EuroDIG 2015: Shaping the Internet Together through three panels that discussed equal access to the Internet, the role of libraries in facilitating access, and the opportunities of the EU copyright reform process.
Over the past year IFLA has been working with the international library community—as well as civil society and member states—to develop its position and help ensure that crucial elements such as access to information are included in the UN post-2015 Development Agenda.
The IFLA General Assembly meetings will take place on 19 & 20 August 2015.

IFLA and Brill are pleased to announce that the Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB), from the Netherlands, has been selected as this year’s winner of the IFLA/Brill Open Access Award.
The Gosford City Library team was thrilled to launch the IFLA “World Through Picture Books” exhibition at Erina Library on March 5th 2015. The author and illustrator Bruce Whatley entertained a large audience of children’s literature professionals including a large contingent of librarians, and teacher librarians, as well as interested community members.
