IFLA and Brill are pleased to announce that the Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB), from the Netherlands, has been selected as this year’s winner of the IFLA/Brill Open Access Award.
The Gosford City Library team was thrilled to launch the IFLA “World Through Picture Books” exhibition at Erina Library on March 5th 2015. The author and illustrator Bruce Whatley entertained a large audience of children’s literature professionals including a large contingent of librarians, and teacher librarians, as well as interested community members.
With the negotiations over the UN post-2015 development agenda reaching their final phases in New York, it is an appropriate moment to share an overview of what is happening at the United Nations.
IFLA has joined an international coalition to offer a framework of safeguards and best practices for intermediary liability for third-party content and for the handling of requests to restrict or take down content.

"15 to 20 year olds reading across the world: Why? Where? How?" Young people between 15 and 20 years old around the world live in very different geographic, social, economic, every-day life conditions. Some attend secondary school or university, some work, some both study and work and some do not study nor work. How can 15-20 year olds that do not read be led to reading? What roles can be played by physical and digital libraries, by schools and cultural institutions, by associations and work places?
