IFLA MENA RDC offered a workshop in Damascus Syria in collaboration with The Syrian Computer Society (SCS). The workshop titled "Measuring, Evaluating, and Demonstrating the Impact of Library Services" was held on May 20-21, 2024, at SCS headquarters.
IFLA MENA RDC and IFLA MLAS partnered with the Lebanese Library Association and ESCWA to organize the sixth conference of the Lebanese Library Association, titled "Libraries and Digital Preservation of Cultural Heritage." The conference took place at ESCWA in Beirut from May 14 to 16, 2024.

The IFLA Academic and Research Libraries Section (ARL) is pleased to announce the winners of its travel grant program for the 2024 IFLA Information Futures Summit in Brisbane, Australia.
The post-COVID period has been transformational for academic and research libraries, and has challenged librarians to take on leadership roles and embrace change in support of students and researchers. Libraries have seen significant growth in digital scholarship, and increased global attention on open science, open publication, and open data. In response, libraries have built new services and platforms to support new and emerging user needs, and in many cases have served as advocates for changing business models and approaches to scholarly communications.
Women in Iraq have been working in libraries for many years and they constitute the majority in library management. We are honoured to present a number of models recognised for their achievements in the field of library and information science.
The IFLA Library Publishing (LibPub) SIG created a blog series called “Library Publishing Through the IFLA Global Lens”, featured on the ARL blog, as well as our own WordPress page. It features a variety of people involved in library publishing from around the world.
