Initial results from the analysis of the place of culture in Voluntary National Reviews of implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals show that there is a critical mass of countries which are already taking the role of culture as an enabler of progress seriously.

On 14 July 2025, the Women, Information and Libraries Special Interest Group (WILSIG), in partnership with IFLA’s Management of Library Associations Section (MLAS) and the New Professionals Special Interest Group (NPSIG), hosted a special webinar to celebrate WILSIG’s achievements, honor its founders, and look to the future of empowering women and girls through libraries.
Loida Garcia-Febo was re-elected as Chair of IFLA Management of Library Associations Section (MLAS) for the term 2025-2027. She will serve as an IFLA Governing Board Member.
Juha Manninen elected Secretary of IFLA Management of Library Associations 2025-2027.

MLAS honors IFLA MLAS Officer, Loy Jyoon Chin, for her exceptional service as MLAS Secretary from 2019 to 2025, including her dedicated representation of MLAS at the IFLA Governing Board as needed, her contributions to the IFLA WLIC Review Committee, and her invaluable work across several MLAS working groups, where she consistently went above and beyond in advancing our collective mission.
