REMEDIS project releases its evaluation planner

    As part of the Horizon Europe-funded REMEDIS project (REthinking MEdia DIgital Skills), an international consortium has launched a new digital tool to support educators, librarians, civil society actors, and policymakers in evaluating Media Literacy and Digital Skills (ML&DS) interventions.

      The IFLA Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Division hosted a successful preconference workshop under the theme "Advocacy & Networking for a Sustainable LIS Profession." The session was strategically aligned with the overall conference theme, "Open Knowledge: Present, Future, and African Realities" and was held at the University of Namibia (UNAM) Library Video Conference Room.

      IFLA elections and nominations: data analysis

        Over half of IFLA's members took part in our elections this year, while more than one in five nominated a candidate. Within this, Latin America and the Caribbean and the Middle East and North Africa stood out for their mobilisation, while overall we saw an increase in the regional diversity of the membership of our Section standing commitees.

          Release of 'IFLA Entry Point to Libraries and AI' document

            The 'IFLA Entry Point to Libraries and AI' is intended to be a tool to support librarians in the assessment of ethical AI use. The document provides librarians with a list of key considerations and scenarios to evaluate and discuss the benefits and risks of adopting AI use within library premises. While it is not designed to serve as a standalone decision-making instrument, we encourage individuals and organizations to use it to engage in broader discussions with colleagues, peer-organizations and other libraries.

              WHISPER: Joint Reading Through "Reading on Air" - A Collaborative Project for World Book Day & Reading Month in the City of Macao 2025

                At the heart of the project is "Immersive Literacy Journey", a digital anthology of recorded readings featuring seven selected literary works that embody Macao’s rich cultural and linguistic heritage. Students and staff from participating institutions will narrate these texts in their mother tongues, including Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin), Portuguese, English, and the endangered Macanese Patuá creole.
