IFLA’s Governing Board has approved a new statement prepared by IFLA’s Advisory Committee on Copyright and other Legal Matters. This sets out the risk of licensing practices for digital content undermining library practices and calls for action.
A new IFLA Statement, produced as an addendum to our 2016 Statement on Net Neutrality, highlights the risks to libraries of efforts to oblige anyone making content available over the internet to pay telecommunications companies supplementary fees to do so.
Following the successful conclusion of work to develop IFLA’s Code of Conduct for Volunteers, the Governing Board has now approved the creation of an Advisory Committee on Ethics.
The position of Chair of the Advisory Committee on Standards for the period 2025-2027 has not yet been filled. The IFLA Governing Board is seeking to appoint a candidate to fill this role.
