IFLA Division C is hosting a monthly Webinar Series for LIS students that aims to create a place for students to share their projects, research, and ideas about different topics related to libraries. Each webinar will address a different theme. All events are held online and are open to everyone (no registration fees).

When any type of cultural property disappears, it is a great loss to humanity. However, around the world, cultural objects are at risk of illicit theft and trafficking. This is a complex issue, and working to counter these threats is not a task that one can take on alone. There is a need for collaboration between cultural institutions, like libraries and museums, and with law enforcement, customs organisations, and other stakeholders. IFLA is dedicated to helping protect the world’s cultural heritage, and we work with many partners to build capacity to counter the threat of trafficking.

As part of the IFLA Regional Division Committee for Asia and Oceania’s (IFLA RDC-AO) Action Plan on United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), the Indian Library Association (ILA) and IFLA RDC-AO (South Asia Working Group) organised a webinar on The South Asian Libraries and UN SDGs.
The objectives of the e-LMM Portal are to enable the Media and Information Literacy Programme that was taught manually to be accessed online through the self-learning system platform. Besides that, the e-LMM portal also aims to facilitate the learning of media and information literacy skills regardless of time and place.
The practice of international experience suggests that a good supply of high-quality information-library services to the public generates and meets their interests in science, education, information, and culture. Up-to-date information and communication technology must be efficiently utilised in the information-library supply system.
In 2011, Fiona observed the extent to which schools are under-resourced in Fiji. Her solution to this problem was to establish the Fiji Book Drive to deliver resources to these schools.
When classes were being suspended and the library was closed, the National Central Library of Taiwan (NCL) initiated a variety of new services to satisfy users’ needs. NCL’s endeavors include providing online open-access resources, special copy, and pick-up service to facilitate continuous reading and learning.
