The following statement was agreed by the IFLA Governing Board at its meeting of 8 April 2022
IFLA Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Division Committee (IFLA LAC RDC) sent one of its members as a representative to the 5th Meeting of the Forum of the Countries of Latin America and Caribbean on Sustainable Development, held on 7-9 March online and in San José, Costa Rica. The Forum organised by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), as a hybrid event, and was chaired by Costa Rica.
The Post-Conference Satellite aims to provide an overview of conceptual foundations of community-centered LIS education, reflecting IFLA Global Vision and a paradigm shift to proactive libraries transforming communities.
The Governing Board - as the leading body of IFLA has decided to appoint two Board members, Antonia Arahova and Halo Locher, to take care of the operational management tasks of SG within IFLA on an interim basis because of absence of the Secretary General.

The workshop addressed emerging library, information and knowledge management professionals and was focused on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Voluntary National Review (VNR) Process.

The IFLA Environment, Sustainability and Libraries Section (ENSULIB) with the Management and Marketing Section and Preservation and Conservation Section are seeking proposals for papers to be presented at their Satellite Meeting 2022 in Cork, Ireland.
