The IFLA Advisory Committee on Copyright and related Matters (CLM) has prepared four key documents to articulate how we will approach our work and guide our efforts in the coming months. Each document is less than two pages — they are brief by design.

We decided on this approach to support the CLM’s ability to respond nimbly to longstanding issues and time-sensitive matters with a substance that leverages our collective expertise.

CLM is pleased to share this suite of documents for your consideration. Collaboratively prepared by CLM with informal input from a few key experts, we spent considerable time drafting and discussing these documents to ensure alignment with IFLA’s overarching strategic goals and our contribution toward the meaningful advancement of those goals.

As an advisory committee, we aim to develop these into IFLA statements (particularly the manifesto statement). We plan to present these documents more formally to the IFLA Governing Board for their consideration. In anticipation of this engagement with the GB, we request comments from the IFLA community by or before 5 November.

Kindly share your thoughts and suggestions through our survey open through 5 November 2024.
