Introduction
The Technology Talk Convergence-MetaConnect: Pioneering the Infinite Library Experience was held on 14 November 2024 in a hybrid format at the National Library of Malaysia (PNM) and streamed via PNM TV Channel. This initiative aimed to expose librarians and information managers across Malaysia to emerging technologies, ensuring that library services remain relevant in the digital era. Since 2018, PNM has been strategizing with stakeholders to enhance library services through smart technologies. In 2024, PNM expanded the initiative into a large-scale event under the Technology Talk Convergence branding. Aligned with the government’s AI awareness agenda, the event supported both the Ministry of Unity and the Ministry of Digital’s self-learning AI initiative. Led by the Digital Project Management Division (PMO Digital), it fostered a proactive approach to digital transformation in library management.

Objectives
The program introduced new technologies to improve library and information management in Malaysia in line with the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR 4.0). It also provided a platform for librarians and information managers to develop innovative, high-quality services that align with technological advancements. Additionally, the event facilitated networking and strategic partnerships while celebrating digital creativity through collaborations with industry players and ICT exhibitors. The initiative also supported the Public Sector Digitalisation Strategic Plan 2021-2025 in transitioning public services into a digital ecosystem.

Program Execution
The event was meticulously planned to provide knowledge-sharing opportunities, networking sessions, and experiential learning for participants. The Technology Talk Convergence sessions featured industry experts offering insights into AI, virtual and augmented reality, and automation. These sessions included interactive Q&A segments, allowing attendees to clarify technological concepts and explore their applications in library services.

The Technology Exhibition showcased advanced library technologies, including AI-driven cataloguing systems, robotic inventory management, and metaverse-based virtual library experiences. Participants had hands-on access to these innovations, gaining practical exposure to emerging digital solutions that could enhance library operations.

Engaging Minds, Transforming Libraries: Conversations on Digital Transformation

An engaging Interactive Gaming and e-Sports Zone introduced gamification as a tool for learning and library engagement. Games such as Roblox, Wheel of Fortune, and Tekken demonstrated how digital entertainment could be integrated into educational and library settings. The Metaverse PNM experience allowed participants to navigate a virtual library, interact with digital resources, and explore futuristic services using augmented reality.

To foster collaboration, the Industry Networking and Knowledge Exchange segment facilitated discussions between librarians, information managers, and technology providers. These sessions encouraged partnerships and knowledge-sharing, enabling attendees to explore innovative library solutions. Additionally, Food Trucks & Entrepreneurial Booths added a social element to the event, encouraging casual networking among participants.
