Your views on our draft Strategy 2024-2029
29 September 2024
Our sixth and final survey to prepare for IFLA’s next Strategy has closed, and we’re happy to be sharing the results, which highlight both broad support for it, but also areas where we can improve it further. This feedback will help prepare a final edition for approval by the Governing Board.
The final IFLA Strategy survey focused on the draft Strategy itself, as agreed by the Governing Board as a draft in its April meetings. The survey ran from 29 April until 19 June, with various e-mail reminders and a series of five townhall meetings in June in order to support responses.
This report summarises what we heard through the survey. We hope that it sheds light on what different parts of our field expect from IFLA, as well as how well they think the draft Strategy does this.
As with other surveys, it also provides a breakdown of the results by how respondents engage with IFLA, their region, and the length of their career experience, in order to ensure that we are hearing all voices. It also shares an overview of responses to the open question about possible improvements, and a summary of the feedback we got from the open consultation sessions.
Crucially, the survey will help the Governing Board work towards a final draft to approve on 29 July. We’re looking forward to sharing more!
