- The IFLAPARL History Project, 2023-present
The IFLA Library and Research Services for Parliaments Section Standing Committee added in its 2023-2025 Action Plan a new project: The original plan of this project, when first put in action, was to explore and document the section’s history through its publications, the events it has organized over the years, and by collecting the related bibliography. Since 2024 the project expanded to collect Orar History Interviews from past members and officers of the Standing Committee, in contact with the IFLA Library History SIG and its Oral histories project. With the IFLA centenary coming up in 2027, IFLAPARL aims to contribute meaningfully to the celebrations. More details to appear soon. - The COMLAW Project, 2021-present
COMLAW, the Comparative Law Database, is a project that began during the 2021-2023 term and remains in IFLAPARL’s Action Plan 2023-2025. It is an aggregator of digital, open access publications on national and compared law studies that aims to assist librarians and researchers in parliaments in their work. - World Directory of Library and Research Services for Parliaments, 2021-present
The World Directory of Library and Research Services for Parliaments was designed and built by the National Library of Congress, Chile. As with most deployments, post-launch, further changes were identified in 2017. Currently, IFLAPARL is working with National Library of Congress, Chile to enact these changes and explore other ideas and options to make the Directory as user-friendly as possible. - Parliamentary Research & Library Service Ethics, 2017-2019
At the 2016 IFLAPARL Pre-conference it was decided to address the need for some guidance on the ethical questions that arise in daily work to complement the existing published guidelines for parliamentary research services and legislative libraries. A working group was set up to develop a checklist of issues on which services could self-assess. The work was carried forward through workshops at both the 2017 and 2018 pre-conferences, as well as informal discussions, sharing of policy documents from individual services and formal presentations. It was supported by IFLAPARL members who were prepared to share practical examples of ethical issues and comment on the draft checklists throughout their development. We aim to complete this project by launching the checklists at our Pre-conference in Athens in 2019. A new version of the Directory (renamed the World Directory of Library and Research Services for Parliaments) has been designed and built by the National Library of Congress, Chile. The prototype was demonstrated at this year’s pre-conference and an invitation to members to create their own institutional record in the Directory was sent out.

In July 2016, the IFLA Section on Library and Research Services for Parliaments began a survey to obtain feedback on the guidelines that have been authored or published by the Section, in collaboration with partners. This is a summary of the survey results.
- Evaluating the benefits of attending IFLA Conferences, 2013: The Library and Research Services for Parliaments Section has been successful in bidding for funds for a projects to evaluate the benefits of attending IFLA conferences.
