Candidates for President-elect, Treasurer & Governing Board

IFLA Elections 2025 opened for eligible voters on 17 March and will close on 14 April. Full results will be announced on 05 May. Candidates for for the positions of President-elect, Treasurer, and Governing Board Members at Large are listed below in alphabetical order.

President-elect (one place)

To serve August 2025-August 2027 (and subsequently as IFLA President from August 2027-August 2029)

The President-elect is an elected position to the Governing Board. As a Governing Board member, the President-elect is responsible, alongside other members, for the management of the Federation, overseeing governance, financial and professional matters, ensuring sustainability, and developing and overseeing the strategic direction of the Federation.

Treasurer (one place)

To serve August 2025-August 2027

The Treasurer is an elected position to the Governing Board. The Treasurer will be Chair of the Finance and Risk Committee, which is responsible for advising the Governing Board on the financial and risk management of the Federation. The Committee works to oversee and provide advice on IFLA’s finances to the Governing Board and sets out a path towards IFLA’s long-term financial sustainability. In their leadership role, the Treasurer takes responsibility for advancing this work, and developing strategies to deliver on this objective.

Governing Board Members at Large (five places)

To serve August 2025-August 2027

As set out in IFLA’s Statutes, IFLA’s Governing Board is responsible for the management of the Federation. In performing their duties, the members of the Governing Board uphold the interests of the Federation as a legal entity and as an organisation. The Governing Board is responsible for governance, financial and professional matters, ensuring sustainability and developing and overseeing the strategic direction of the Federation.
