IFLA Elections 2025
It’s time. A chance to boost your career and help shape the future of global librarianship!
Every two years, IFLA holds its nominations and elections process, providing new opportunities to engage and contribute. In 2025, we invite you to join us – with openings across 50+ committees and groups, including the election of a new Governing Board.
No elections are held for the Advisory Committees, Review Groups and Special Interest Groups (SIGs). Members and Chairs of Advisory Committees and Review Groups are appointed by the Governing Board. Members of SIGs are appointed by their parent committee(s). The appointment announcements will be published alongside the official IFLA Election 2025 results on 5 May 2025.
IFLA’s volunteer-led committees are the spaces and structures where international librarianship comes to life. Experiences are exchanged, ideas explored, and solutions developed together within these groups and volunteers hold the unique power to find solutions to the common challenges faced by libraries and other information organisations. Volunteering with IFLA can help accelerate and spread innovation far beyond our committees and groups.
You can find out more about the available roles and how they are filled in our Guide.
Elections opened on 17 March and results were announced on 5 May on the Elections website. Candidates will be contacted throughout the week following the announcement.
